KiCAD does everything the CAD program I use at work does (over $5k ~ $10k per license depending on options) but I spent a lot of time setting up the program, searching through menus to find the functions needed and figuring out the quirks of KiCAD.
For FRC electrical diagrams, one only needs a very small fraction of the functionality of an electronic CAD program, even the early ones I used at work over 25 years ago. I have tried to make electrical diagrams for FRC robots using KiCAD and found that the it was just not worth it. Circuitmaker requires an active internet connection to work and designs end up stored in the Cloud so there is little privacy.
It is produced by Altium as a free intro to their professional level package for students, hobbyists and hackers and uses the same “engine” as the professional version of Altium. An alternative freeware program is Circuitmaker. It is full-featured freeware schematic capture and PCB layout package so the files will continue to be accessible without having to get a new free license every year like with Altium. A better choice for the OP’s objectives would be KiCAD. Altium is a professional electronic CAD program that one can use to draw schematics and make PCB layouts. The 2018 virtual kit of parts includes 5 free student licenses for Altium that expire at the end of the 2018. Of course, one would still have to create symbols in the electronic CAD programs. There are some simple freeware ones that do rubber band connections making them no better than a generic drawing program for this purpose. The one reason one would want to try to use an actual electronic CAD is that the better ones can “rubber band” the connections as you move components around on the drawing.
It will take a bit of work to make up symbols for complex parts such as your RoboRio and PCM the first time but those symbols would be reused in future years.
Your best bet is to use one of the two Google products suggested by Marcus and Nelson or some other simple drawing program that you have easy access to.
